Work bib pants and coveralls
Choosing the right workwear is not an easy task, because not many people are familiar with the differences in the characteristics of the products.Everybody in the Stenso.net’s team has a lot of experience in the production of work overalls and in this article we will give more detailed information about the process.
How to choose between work overall and semi-overall?
It turns out that many people don’t know the difference between both so they use “overall “instead of semi-overall.
What is an overall?
The overalls are a whole piece of workwear that covers the body from the neck to the wrists and the ankles. This kind of wear has long sleeves and legs. It’s advantage is that it covers the whole body so that it protects larger area thus it has extra space on the chest for more functional pockets. The overalls are suitable for work on vessesls, service stations etc.
Such products are Emerton coverall, Durage basic coverall. (link)
What is a semi-overall?
These are trausers with added shoulder straps and a front plate on which the pockets are placed. The comfort consists in that the straps of the semi-overall hold it and in case of intensive movements they don’t allow the semi-overall to come down.
In the long run both types provide comfort and protection by intensve movements and basically your choice depends on the specific of your work environment. Once you have chosen the type it is time to consider the fabric, the color and the functionality.
What fabric should you choose?
For the non-quilted wear the choice is between 100% cotton and cotton with polyester with different correlation and thickness of the fabric – from 200 to 280/g/m²
For the quilted ones except for the two types of fabric, the front fabric can be 100% polyester and water and windproof.
Different fabrics have also different characteristics and the most suitable fabric is the one that meets the specifics of your work environment.
● Cotton- natural fabric that wicks away moisture, doesn’t accumulate static electricity and is hardly inflammable.
● Cotton/polyester-available in different proportion of the two types of threads but the most popular of them is 35% cotton, 65% polyester or the combination-50% cotton and 50% polyester. This fabric is suitable for warmer weather conditions because the polyester fibres allow the airing of the body.
● Polyester-used only for quilted wear. The fibres of 100% polyester are coated and waterproof, as well as windproof and the degree of protection depends on the type of the coating.
